Gdańsk FOSFORY is a factory with 100 years of tradition.
Year 2012 in a special way he wrote down in the pages of history GZNFbecause in this year the Plant celebrated its jubilee 100 years of its existence.
From 1912 sulfuric acid and various inorganic salts were produced here. As a result of hostilities, the plant was almost completely destroyed. It was rebuilt in its original shape in 1947. As part of the national agriculture chemistry program in the second half of the 1960s, a large investment was started here, which transformed the plant in a modern phosphate fertilizer factory. Based on the American license, the production of triple granulated superphosphate was started, in which the phosphorus content is almost 3 times higher than in simple superphosphates. In the mid-70s, Gdańsk "FOSFORY " they have achieved the fully designed production capacity, delivering ca. 300,000 to the market tons of finished products.
The political and economic changes that took place in Poland after 1989 resulted in a revision of the company's strategy, reorganization and change of legal status.
IN 1992 year "FOSFORY " transformed into a limited liability company. The State Treasury was the owner of 100% of shares. In 1995, the share ownership structure changed. He acquired shares through capital privatization CIECH SA - 66% and ROLIMPEX SA - 9%. In the following years, the share structure slightly changed. It resulted from the sale of shares GZNF "FOSFORY " between shareholders changing during this period.
The new market situation has led to the need to develop a marketing strategy, adapted to the needs of the market shaped by a demanding and cost-effective buyer. FOSFORY significantly expanded the range of fertilizers. In addition to well-known and appreciated by farmers Triple Granulated Superphosphate a new range of fertilizers was launched: Agrafoska, Amofoska, Amofosmag and Superfosfat Enriched with the content of sulfur, calcium and micronutrients. All fertilizers and fertilizer mixtures are granulated and are characterized by long-lasting and effective operation. Fertilizers are sold in packs of 50 and 500 kg, as well as in bulk. In addition, FOSFORY produces and sells the highest quality technical, battery and sodium bisulfite sulfuric acid.
GZNF "FOFORY" using the location within the port of Gdansk and access to the operated Quay Chemists, they import part of the raw materials for the production of fertilizers by sea.
Having its own wharf and experience in maritime trade GZNF, starting of 1976 year, "FOSFORY" they carry out a wide range of cargo handling and forwarding services for bulk and liquid bulk goods in export and import, as well as goods in big bags.
GZNF are currently carrying out transhipment operations at The Chemików and Przemysłowe quays. Maximum parameters of serviced ships are 200 m with a draft of more than 10 m, which allows for a one-off reloading of 30,000 tons of cargo. "FOSFORY" specialize in bulk cargo handling mainly chemical, including phosphorites, potassium salt, heavy soda, soda lye, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid and molasses, for which they have dedicated tanks, warehouses and transmission lines. Some of these goods belong to the group of dangerous goods IMO Class 8.
The most important investments carried out in years 1996-97 it was necessary to launch a multi-component fertilizer production line NPK and development of warehouses for liquid goods and unloading systems, modernization of fertilizer packaging together with a loading system for cars and wagons, construction of an installation for heating and unloading of tanks with chemical cargoes (soda lye, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, organic), increasing the capacity of export tanks for liquid fertilizers, increasing the storage capacity of sulfuric acid, modernization of the port quay, replacement of belt conveyors, export base of bulk cargo, comprehensive computerization of the entire enterprise.
Another investment that was extremely important from the point of view of environmental protection was the launch in 2003 of the alkaline absorption of acid sulfur compounds, which allows qualifying the sulfuric acid production plant as fully meeting the requirements of BAT (best available technology).
In 2005, the Chemików Quay was extended with a part intended for handling liquid cargoes. It allowed to increase the handling capacity and flexibility in handling both liquid and loose cargoes.
A significant fact whose positive effects are already visible was in April 2011 year, the formal completion of the acquisition process GZNF by Zakłady Azotowe "Puławy" SA - the leader of the Polish fertilizer and chemical industry. Zakłady Azotowe "Puławy" SA they purchased 89.46 percent. share capital GZNF "FOSFORY". Thanks to this transaction GZNF they have become a significant entity of the Capital Group "PUŁAWY "for which a good brand, meeting the needs and requirements of clients is the main strategic goal.
A year later, the Management Boards of Zakłady Azotowe in Tarnów-Mościce SA ("Azoty Tarnów") and Zakłady Azotowe Puławy SA ("ZA Puławy") signed a consolidation agreement on November 14, 2012, the subject of which is to determine the terms of cooperation between Azoty Tarnów SA and ZA Puławy SA, including GZNF "Fosfory" Sp. z o. o The Consolidation Agreement provided for consolidation of Azoty Tarnów SA and ZA Puławy SA within one Capital Group. The main assumptions were aspirations, among others for: maximizing cost synergies, in particular in the area of raw materials and media purchase, achieving synergy effects by extending production capacity and building a complete flexible product portfolio in the area of fertilizers. The aim was to achieve the cumulative effects of the experience of Azoty Tarnów SA and ZA Puławy SA The parties also agreed on the rules regarding the use of the trade name "Grupa Azoty SA", and the addition of the words "Grupa Azoty" to the companies of some of the Companies included in the Capital Group.
Year 2012 also in a special way will be recorded in the pages of history GZNFbecause in this year the plant will celebrate its jubilee 100 years of its existence.
